"Get Connected"  is a group generated by the needs of parents and caregivers to understand the service delivery system and how to access it.  "Get Connected" also addresses the questions  parents of children with special needs often have.  "Get Connected" has a goal to empower parents with the tools needed to increase and enhance the quality of life for their child through training and education. 

"Get Connected" provides information, training, and personal input from parents and caregivers who are facing the same type of decisions and experiences.  The premise of "Get Connected" is to offer a functional non threatening way for parents and caregivers to develop strong relationships with other parents and caregivers, to share experiences in life, to support each others needs, to educate each other in the areas of concern, and to create a circle of support that extends beyond professional boundaries. 

Additionally "Get Connected"  hopes to equip the parents and caregivers so they can act as their child's own best advocate with regards to obtaining services, continuing treatment plans in the home, and supporting others who are going through like experiences.

"Get Connected"  participates in a curriculum based program, as well as parent directed subjects of interest.  "Get Connected" also offers opportunities for parent to access different professional guest speakers, and professionals to discuss subjects of concern.  Issues from birth to five are frequently discussed and information, professional input, and personal experience are contributed to obtain the needed information.
